Three-way tie for winner of Webster's Ice-Out Einstein Contest.
WEBSTER -- Einstein took his spring swim for the 2015 Webster Lake Ice-Out Contest at 5:09 p.m. April 7. For the first time in the contest's history there was a three-way tie for first place with entries at 5:30 p.m.
First, second and third-place prizes will be combined and divided evenly between the winners
First place: Chaeryl Jolda, Annette Starzec and Sunita Katyal, all with 5:30 p.m., each won $1,166.
Second place: Lisa Kane, 4:02 p.m., $250.
Third place: Azur Palmenno, 3:37 p.m., $250.
The Eighth annual Ice-Out Einstein Contest was a great success, and the organizing committee thanks everyone for their support.
A total of 1,544 tickets were sold, and $14,920 was collected, including many sponsorships.
The Webster Lake Association received $1,000 from its main sponsor, Point Breeze Restaurant, and $6,200 from our Key Contributors:
Barry Equipment Co., Bistro Eighty Ates, Bonardis Formalwear Inc., Cappellini's Italian Restaurant, Carl's Oxford Diner, Century 21 Lake Realty, Chuck's Steakhouse, Galaxy Development LLC, Hanks Liquors, Happy Garden Restaurant, Hazard Marine, Hickey Fleet Services LLC, Hometown Bank, Insation Technologies, Lake Pizza, Lakeview Marine, LKQ, Nipmuc Liquors, Oxford Casual Dining, Park 'n Shop Supermarkets, Pratt Trucking Co., Pro Automotive, Robinson & Jalbert, Rose Construction, Sarah Gustafson Coldwell Banker, Shotokan Karate Academy, Standard Source Inc., The Citadel Company, The Whistle Stop, Vandi Auto Supply Inc., Waterfront Mary's and Webster Five.
It has been a pleasure to be associated with the Webster Fire & Rescue and Webster Education Foundation. WLA will be presenting checks to them for just under $2,200 each, which represents half the net proceeds from this year's contest.
Once again, it was very rewarding to witness the involvement from not only the WLA, but also the cooperation and excitement from the community.
The Ice-Out Committee members -- Patrick Riley, Tim Hill, Steve Washburn, Robin Brodeur, John Real, Brian Hickey and Jason Rousseau -- thank everyone for their support.
