Three villagers kidnapped.

SHIKARPUR -- Armed men, believed to be dacoits, kidnapped five villagers on Parco road late on Saturday evening.

Officials at the Faizo police station said that Abdul Ghaffor Chachar, Mohammed Rafique Chachar, Abdul Wahab Chachar, Imamuddin Chachar and Mohammed Ismail Malik riding a tri-wheeler were returning to Ali Jan Shar village from Haji Khan Kalhoro village after shopping when the vehicle was intercepted by the armed men.

They said that the armed men let off two of the hostages, Imamuddin and Malik, at some distance and took away the other three at gunpoint.

The freed hostages informed the police about the incident after which a police team tried to track down the kidnappers and hostages by following their footprints and with the help of sniffer dogs. The search led the police team into the katcha area of Ghari Tegho.

The police had surrounded the suspected hideouts of the kidnappers and were planning a rescue operation till the last report came in late on Sunday evening.
