Three to watch today.

Skycab

3.35 Stratford, 2m4f

Jockey Leighton Aspell

Trainer Nick Gifford

Forecast SP 15-2

Why this is significant

Skycab drops two miles in distance

after unseating his rider in the Grand National. The 12-year-old has won ten races in his career, including this particular contest twice - in 2000 and 12 months ago.

This is clearly his time of year, as

he followed up last year's victory

here by recording a success at Sandown.

Hallrule

3.50 Carlisle, 3m2f

Jockey Richard McGrath

Trainer Pauline Robson

Forecast SP 11-2

Why this is significant

Hallrule had not even been placed in nine previous starts under Rules until justifying favouritism at Hexham on Grand National day. He was made market leader on the back of improved form in point-to-points (two wins and a second in three recent runs), and bids to follow up in this better race.

Sharmy

4.00 Wincanton, 2m

Jockey David Dennis

Trainer Ian Williams

Forecast SP 9-4

Why this is significant

Sharmy has won two of his last three starts. Sandwiched in between victories at Ludlow and Huntingdon was a third in the Mid Season

Chase here on Boxing Day (his only previous run at Wincanton). Trainer Ian Williams is in good form, having saddled three winners, with

another half-dozen placed, in the last fortnight.
