Three nabbed for ONGC paper leak.

THE Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested three people, including the vice principal of a school in Uttam Nagar, for allegedly leaking the question paper of a graduation-level examination conducted by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the trainees' post. The exam was scheduled for Sunday.

Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) Ravinder Yadav said that the accused have been identified as Somnath Gupta, Tarun, and Ashutosh. Gupta is the vice principal of the school where the question papers were kept. "We received information on Saturday that Ashutosh approached Tarun, who runs an institute for competitive examination, for arranging the question paper for one of his acquaintances.

Tarun then approached Gupta. The deal was fixed for ` 50,000," he added.

Yadav further added that acting on the tip-off, a team was formed and sent to Holy International Senior Secondary School in West Delhi where the accused were said to meet and finalise the deal. "Gupta, vice principal of one of the schools where the question papers were kept, was caught redhanded along with Tarun and Ashutosh. Cash amounting to ` 50,000 was also recovered from them," Yadav said.

A case has been registered against the three and investigation is on.

ONGC conducts the examination for graduate level trainees for various disciplines including Engineering, HR, Geology etc. under the name of ONGC Graduate Trainees Recruitment. Held for the 842 posts of Class I Executive E-1 Level, the syllabus is as per UPSC standard of IES for engineering subjects, Civil Services for management discipline and M. Sc level for others.
