Three Tunisian laboratories receive 1st three national metrology awards.

(TAP) -- Three Tunisian laboratories specialised in development of metrology techniques destined to industrial and economic uses, on Friday, received the 1st three National Metrology Awards 2017.

The first award, valued at 15 thousand dinars, was granted to the DEFNAT Laboratory while the 2nd award (10 thousand dinars) was given to CK Metrology Laboratory and the 3rd prize (5 thousand dinars) went to Tunisian-French laboratory "MAaAaAeA@diterranAaAaAeA@enne d'expertises et de mesu (MEM).

The National Metrology Awards, which were established by the Trade Ministry in 2017, aim to encourage companies, laboratories and researchers to develop measurement and controlling techniques in the industrial, trade, administrative and financial fields through accurate measurement.

In his remarks at the awards ceremony, Trade Minister said the prizes aim to encourage using advanced technologies so as to promote quality in the trade, industrial, administrative and consumer protection related fields.

In this respect, he highlighted the efforts made by national officials to achieve the objectives of the National Metrology Strategy (2016-2020).

The National Metrology Awards were created under a decree dating back to August 16, 2016 following a decision taken by the Trade Ministry on March 28, 2017.
