Three Republicans -- Burt Minor, Amy Grant and Ryan Byrne -- are seeking their party's nomination in the state's 42nd House District to advance to the November general election where the winner of the March 20 GOP primary will face Democrat Kathleen Carrier. The seat currently is held by Rep. Jeanne Ives, who is seeking the GOP nomination for governor.
Minor is a retired Air Force officer from Warrenville who serves as chairman of the Winfield Township Republican Party and as a precinct committeeman; Grant is a DuPage County Board member from Wheaton; and Byrne is a marketing director and newcomer to politics from Wheaton.
The 42nd House District covers all or parts of Carol Stream, Lisle, Naperville, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield.
