Thousands of Egyptians protest in Tahrir Square.

| CAIRO, June 22 (KUNA) -- Thousands of protesters are gathering at the iconic Tahrir Square, downtown Cairo, calling for revealing the presidential elections' results and putting an end to the military ruling in the country, especially the military arrest of civilians.

Demonstrators also demanded handing the power over to the president-elect. They also denounced the Supreme Constitutional Court ruling of dissolving the People's Assembly; the protestors called for the Assembly to be reinstated in order to practice its role as an elected legislative authority.

Several Islamist groups have called for this mass protest such as Freedom and Justice Party, April 6 Youth Movement, Center Party and Revolutionary Socialists to name a few.

Protestors have closed all of the square's exit points with metal barricades as a preparatory procedure for this million-man protest. (end) bna.nfm KUNA 221339 Jun 12NNNN
