Thought the Confederate flag was awful? Walmart just made a Daesh cake.

Some US residents are making a big stink about the banning of a Confederate flag, a stark reminder of the country's history of slavery . The recent mass killing at a black church in South Carolina prompted the ban after an image of the shooter, a white supremacist, posing with the flag was found.

But a Daesh (ISIS) flag ? Well, that's just as bad, if not worse.

Walmart had to issue an apology Monday for making a cake sporting the Daesh symbol.

A man in Louisiana, Chuck Netzhammer, requested the sheetcake after he was refused one with a Confederate flag. He spoke of his rights to the "southern American" symbol in a YouTube video, where he showed the Daesh cake.

The retail giant's spokesman said the employee who took the order "didn't know what the design meant."

"The cake should not have been made and we apologize," the spokesman told ABC News.

"We never want to offend anyone with the products that we offer," Walmart said in a statement last week, when the retail giant jumped on board banning the Confederate flag. "We have taken steps to remove all items promoting the Confederate flag from our assortment -- whether in our stores or on our web site."
