Thomson realigns field sales force.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Thomson Consumer Electronics, manufacturer of RCA, GE and ProScan audio-video products, has restructured its field sales force into three satellite groups.

The company has consolidated the former Southeastern sales operation, based in Atlanta, into the Eastern and central sales groups.

Heading the field sales groups are new vice presidents and general managers: Carl Miller, Eastern sales, based in Fort Lee, N.J.; Eric Schulenburg, central sales, based in Indianapolis, and Tony Yunt, Western sales, with offices in Dallas.

Miller was formerly manager of Eastern sales, Schulenburg was manager of central sales and Yunt was manager of Western sales when the Western and Southwestern groups were consolidated.

The three executives report to Guy Johnson, vice president of sales.

A Thomson spokesman said the consolidation was made in "response to the dynamics of the evolving retail environment" and to improve the way the company meets the needs of retailers.

"With the growth of power retailers and the loss of smaller independent retailers over the years, you need to better meet the needs of the current retail environment," he said.
