Thomson Financial Ventures Makes Equity Investment In Wall Street Source, Inc.; Enhances Relationship With Leading, Web-based Financial Information Platform.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2001

Thomson Financial Ventures today announced that it has become an investor and strategic partner of Wall Street Source, Inc., a leading Web-based, software solutions company that offers real-time, equities-focused financial news and data to the institutional marketplace.

Thomson Financial Ventures is dedicated to making minority investments in companies that operate in markets important to Thomson Financial, a provider of e-information and integrated work solutions to the worldwide financial community. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.

In conjunction with the investment, Thomson Financial will strategically align itself with Wall Street Source, a company developing a rapidly growing Web-based platform for the buy and sell side community, in order to deliver a variety of Thomson Financial content to institutional buy and sell side clients. Under a partnership with First Call, Thomson Financial/First Call and Wall Street Source have developed a joint platform for institutional research. Wall Street Source collects, filters, re-organizes and distributes First Call data in a concise and timesaving manner to its customer base.
