Thomas Kinkade Company Honors Andrews AFB Bronze Star Recipient with Presentation of "Heading Home" Canvas on Friday, December 15, 2006.

Heroic Actions of Staff Sergeant Carlie C. Morey Saved Over 20 Lives During Operation Iraqi Freedom

MORGAN HILL, Calif. -- The Thomas Kinkade Heading Home Tour will honor Staff Sergeant Carlie C. Morey for her heroic service in Iraq with a limited edition canvas of the Thomas Kinkade work "Heading Home" on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Home Tradition Store at Andrews AFB, MD. Staff Sergeant Morey will accept the artwork on behalf of Andrews Air Force Base, where it will be permanently displayed.

The presentation ceremony includes a personalized recorded message from Thomas Kinkade, "The Painter of Light[TM]," as well as a special presentation by Colonel Paul R. Ackerley, 316th Wing Commander.

The signed, limited edition canvas of "Heading Home" recognizes Staff Sergeant Morey for selfless actions that went above and beyond the call of duty during her deployment to the 732nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron at Abu Ghraib, Iraq. She performed emergency medical procedures with minimal instructions - assisting doctors with stitching wounds, improvising bandages out of discarded plastic, removing shrapnel from multiple wounds, and administering IVs. She saved over 20 lives. Staff Sergeant Morey was awarded the Bronze Star for her extraordinary service.

"I am very proud of our men and women in uniform," says Thomas Kinkade. "These folks are defenders of all that we hold dear in our country: faith, home, and freedom. I also feel great pride for the families of those who serve. Everyone looks forward to the day when those in uniform have completed their duty and are heading home. I salute Sergeant Morey for her dedication and her determination and I am grateful for her service to our country."

The presentation is the finale to the week-long Heading Home Tour. The Tour offers a rare opportunity to see a very limited collection of Thomas Kinkade artwork. Customers will have the opportunity to purchase limited edition canvases, hand-signed by Thomas Kinkade, or have their canvases enhanced by a Master Highlighter. Thomas Kinkade Master Highlighters are trained and certified to use Thomas Kinkade's highlighting techniques to add dimension to limited edition canvases with paint - making each one a unique work of art. Master Highlighters are also master storytellers and will share stories about the images as they paint.
