Thomas Hardy's Ale offered in sampler.
If you're looking for a unique gift for a beer lover, the 1990 Vintage Sampler Pack of Thomas Hardy's Ale, available from Phoenix Imports, may be right up your alley. Consisting of four "nip" bottles, one each of the 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990 vintages, it's an ideal gift that can be enjoyed now or some time in the next century, according to the importer.
Scarce, subtle, and complex, Thomas Hardy's is the beer enthusiasts equivalent of rare cognac. Bottled with its natural brewing yeast to mature in the bottle like fine wine, its flavor will improve with age up to 25 years. Each year's limited bottling is vintage dated and each bottle is individually serial numbered.
Due to the extremely limited stock of the older vintages, the 1990 Sampler Pack of Hardy's will only be available in the following markets: Minneapolis/St. Paul; Boston; Washington, D.C.; northern Virginia and Maryland. The samplers, at an average price of $15.95, should begin appearing on retail shelves in mid-November.
PHOTO : PACKAGED WITH CARE--Thomas Hardy's Ale will again be available in special Sampler Packs, which contain one each of the '87, '88, '89, and '90 vintages. The sampler will make an excellent gift for any beer enthusiast.
