This week we test drive joggers, the four wheel drives of the push-chair world.

POSH and Becks have one for baby Brooklyn. Scary Spice takes Phoenix Chi everywhere in hers. Now, ordinary mums and dads around the globe are waking up to the benefits of the ultimate baby accessory, the jogger - an oddly-shaped push-chair. If you're fed up with struggling up and down kerbs with awkward buggies, or long to whisk your little 'un along a deserted beach, why not boost your pushing power with a little help from us?

Land Rover Jogger

Price: pounds 359

Available from: The Glasgow Pram Centre

Made in: UK

Features: Large seat unit suitable for use from six months to over three years; foot rest; raincover included; five-point harness; large shopping basket; pump for tyres; available in a choice of colours.

The Land Rover features a hammock-style seat unit, making it ideal for older babies and toddlers but not suitable at all for new borns. This model is lightweight and compact when folded - fitting easily into even small car boots. Our main complaint was the lack of padding around the seat area - a design flaw in a pricey buggy which is supposed to be good on rough terrain.

Implast Lukas Jogger

Price: pounds 205

Available from: The Glasgow Pram Centre

Made in: Poland

Features: New born backrest adjuster; adjustable handle; bumper bar; five-point harness; zip in footmuff; detachable hood; observation window in hood; adjustable foot rest; pump for tyres; bell on handle; large shopping basket; matching accessories available.

The Implast provides four seating positions, making it ideal for use from new born to just under three years. A well thought out push-chair, we liked the adjustable handle and the view window in the hood. This model is heavier to push, however, and bulky when it comes to folding. Comfortable for the child, though - and the adjustable foot rest caters for growth rates.

Boogie Buggy XTS Jogger

Made in: UK

Features: Two position backrest; hand brake on handle as well as normal foot brake; PVC raincover included; five-point harness; viewing window in hood; foot rest; pump for tyres; large shopping basket; matching accessories and newborn car seat kit available.

This trendy looking jogger has a good sized seat unit with two backrest positions which makes sleeping more comfortable for the child. It is suitable for babies from around six months up to three years and over, although it is the only model to offer a car seat adapter kit for newborns. Easy to push, this jogger was also the least hassle to fold and most compact to stow.
