Get the funk.. at Concert for Matt at King Tut's, Glasgow tonight as Average White Band's Hamish Stuart raises money in memory of fellow Glaswegian musician Matt Irving, who died of prostate cancer. The show includes Lights Out by Nine and Scots funksters James Brown Is Annie.

Wear lycra.. and get involved in Pedal for Scotland on Sunday. Choose cycles from five miles to 93 miles, to suit your level of stamina. The big one is the Big Belter, a 93-mile cycle ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh and back. For the family there's the Wee Jaunt, which is a 10 mile closed road route around Edinburgh.

Celebrate.. the Battle of Stirling Bridge at annual commemoration of the moment when William Wallace and Andrew Moray defeated the English in 1297. Starts 6.45pm with speeches/wreaths at Stirling Castle esplanade.

Trot.. along to Horsepower, a free event celebrating Scotland's equine heritage. Kicking off from 10am today, more than 30 horses from all over the country, including rare Scottish breeds, will be on show. There will be two stunt shows from Les Amis Stunt Team featuring riders from the Outlander telly series, bringing to life jousting and Highlander Displays. All the fun takes place at the Helix park, home of the Kelpies in Falkirk, and is on until 4pm.

Feel.. the power of The Kite Runner which opens at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow, on Monday. Based on Khaled Hosseini's international best-selling novel, this tale of friendship stars Andrei Costin as Hassan and David Ahmad as Amir.

Watch.. Victoria & Abdul at cinemas. Dame Judi Dench once again plays Queen Victoria. The actress played the monarch back in 1997 in Mrs Brown. This new film charts the friendship between the Queen and a young Muslim servant from India, played by Ali Fazal.
