Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi

Beach Rotana's newest venue, Essence, will be serving iftar from 9 August.

Arabi dishes will be the focus of the iftars, with live cooking stations for saj (flatbread), falafel, shawarma and favourites such as kibbeh and fatayer (pastry with spinach or cheese).

Main dishes will include Lebanese mixed grill, ouzi, laban ammu (lamb cooked in yoghurt) and dawood bash (spiced meatballs in tomato and pine nut gravy).

In addition to dates grown in Liwa in Abu Dhabi's Al Gharbia (Western Region), Emirati dishes such as machboos (lamb cooked with basmati rice and local spices), harees (boiled, cracked or coarsely ground wheat with chicken or lamb that is typically served first) and thareed (similar to stew with either chicken or lamb) will be offered.
