Instagram got so egg-cited with a just a picture of plain brown egg that it snatched the title of most-liked post from Kylie Jenner. The photograph, uploaded on January 4, racked up over 18 million likes when as of Sunday evening, and currently has just over 24.5 million likes.

The image was posted by account's owner Egg Gang solely to smash Kylie's record. The account's owner captioned the photo of the egg sitting in the backdrop of serene white: 'Let's set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this'.

But before the egg stole the title from Kylie, her Instagram post showing snapshot of her newborn baby daughter held the world's most liked post. Members of the Egg Gang remain unidentified and after the massive likes from netizens they wrote: 'This is madness. What a Time to be alive', and thanked their followers for support.
