This month in Agri marketing.

* BASF Agricultural Products, Research Triangle Park, N.C., has entered into a supply agreement with DuPont Agricultural Products, Wilmington, Del., in which DuPont will purchase dimethenamid, the active ingredient in BASF's Frontier corn herbicide, and BASF will purchase nicosulfron, the active ingredient in DuPont's Accent herbicide. Both companies intend to use the purchased chemicals for new products.

* ICI Agricultural Products, Wilmington, Del., changes its name to Zeneca Ag Products. Zeneca comprises the former ICI Ag Products, Seeds, Pharmaceuticals and Specialty businesses. In addition, the Seeds group continues to operate under ICI Seeds, although it is part of Zeneca.

* The Pfizer Animal Health Group, New York, creates the North American Animal Health Division, comprised of the company's U.S. and Canadian businesses. The headquarters of the new unit will be located in Lee's Summit, Mo. Roger Behrenhausen is named vice president/general manager of the new division.

* Monsanto Co. scientists announce successful transfer of a genetic trait from a bacterium to a plant cell using recombinant DNA techniques, a discovery representing the first time plant cells have been made to produce foreign proteins.

* The price of Treflan herbicide comes down again, this time through an 8 percent rebate directly to farmers from the manufacturer, Elanco Products Co., Indianapolis.

* Doane Marketing Research Inc. acquires the marketing research division of Doane Western Inc., Princeton, N.J. William M. Clapper becomes president, Ralph L. Wehunt is named senior vice president of operations, G.B. Hatcher becomes vice president of client services and David G. Esbrook becomes vice president of marketing.

* Midwest Breeders Cooperative, Shewano, Wis., names Gloria Basse promo and member relations manager.
