1964 -- Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem issues Law 24 of 1964 on labor.1964 -- Denmark appoints its first ambassador to Kuwait, 1965 -- Kuwait Central Blood Bank is established.1976 -- A blast at Shuwaikh Industrial Area destroys 40 cars and another blast in an oxygen factory kills three people.1981 -- Kuwait signs Gulf Cooperation Council's articles of association.1985 -- Motorcade of the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is attacked at 9:15 a.m. while en route to his office at Seif Palace. A booby-trapped car attempts to ram into the motorcade. The explosion kills three people including the driver of the booby-trapped car himself and wounds many others. The Amir, following the incident, assures citizens of his safety and affirms that the attack would not prevent Kuwait from serving Arab and Islamic causes.1998 -- Hamad Al-Rujaib passes away at the age of 76. He was known as a multifaceted innovator for his talents in the domains of literature, arts, music, and diplomacy. Also credited as one of the founders of the Kuwaiti theater, he held the post of minister of social and labor affairs between 1981 and 1985.1998 -- The faculty of religious studies celebrates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the religious educational system.1999 -- An Amiri Decree is issued amending first article of the 1962 electoral law concerning the election of members of the National Assembly, allowing Kuwaiti women to practice their political right of election and nomination for parliamentary seats. The National Assembly rejects the bill on November 22, 1999.2001 -- Kuwait presents the idea of a His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah award for special needs research, to the general director of the UNESCO, who accepts it.2003 -- The Ministry of Information holds a ceremony to honor leading media figures of the past 50 years in the Arab World.2003 -- Fahaheel Model Park opens. The park has an area of 22,000 square meters and includes many facilities.2006 -- Sheikh Abdulaziz Saud Al-Sabah passes away at the age of 87. He was one of Kuwait's leading figures in its early development stage in politics and economy.2007 -- Dr. Homoud Abdullah Al-Ruguba passes away at the age of 57. He held the position of Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Kuwait University in 1982, then Dean at 1984, then in 1988, he was assigned Minister of Electricity and water, and later in 1991 as Minister of Oil and the last oil well torched by the retreating Iraqis was put down under his ministry.2008 -- Arabi Club is crowned champion of the Amir's football tournament beating Salmiya Club.
