At least 13 people were killed in an accident in Zimbabwe Thursday, police said, after a bus and a minibus collided.

The accident occurred along the busy highway that connects the country's biggest cities Harare and Bulawayo. "About 13 people have been confirmed dead and scores injured. Investigations are under way to establish the cause of the accident," police spokesperson Charity Charamba told dpa. Traffic accidents are common in the country, which has many pothole-ridden roads in need of repair.
