Third quarter traffic figures announced by AirTran Airways.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc (NYSE: AAI), has reported its traffic figures for the three-month period ended 30 September 2007.

The airline reported a rise in traffic for the quarter of 32.3% to more than 4.8bn RPMs, based on a 20.9% increase in capacity.

The company said its load factor for the quarter was 80.1%, an increase of a 6.9 percentage points as compared to the same period of the prior year.

Over 6.4m passengers were enplaned by the airline during the third quarter, a 25.4% increase over the same period in 2006.
