Thieves steal horse wagon under cover of darkness.

THIEVES stole a transporter trailer from a Northumberland stables under the cover of darkness.

The offence took place between 11pm on Tuesday, December 23, and 9.30am the following morning at a paddock in Cookswell House, Pegswood.

Offenders got in by snapping the lock off a gate to the property and then used a vehicle to tow the trailer away.

The trailer is aluminium silver and has a blue horseshoe sprayed on the rear, as well as a broken off-offside warning triangle.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, ext 69191, quoting reference number 383 24/12/14.

Meanwhile, police inquiries are ongoing into a shed burglary in Amble.

The break-in happened at some point between 10pm on Sunday, December 21, and 8am on Monday, December 22, in George Street.

Suspects searched the shed but nothing was stolen.
