They keep us in poverty nationally and locally; Straight to the point.

Byline: CA Jones

HOW long must we tolerate politicians bleeding us dry while supposedly representing us?

They keep us in poverty nationally and locally with ever increasing taxation, while living the lives of kings and queens without having to use their personal income.

There should be a national outcry, or even an act of civil disobedience, over the government's scrapping of the 10p starting rate of income tax.

It's an added burden on the poor and the low-paid, on top of persistent increases in council tax plus more expense due to green issues. And this from a government whose sole aim was to alleviate poverty.

Yes, this is a good reason to protest lawfully against these unjust taxes, especially at a time when both national and local governments continue to screw us out of every pound we earn - while they keep their snouts fixed firmly in the expenses trough, courtesy of our income and council taxes.
