SPITTING is back on the agenda this week and, in short, is despicable.

When you run, train and play you get a lot of saliva in your mouth and you have to get it out.

But you don't need to get it out aiming at another player.

The FA brought their rules into line with FIFA last summer by punishing spitting with an automatic six-game ban.

The problem with dealing with it, though, is they have to have enough evidence.

And I think the time has come for them to get their process for dealing with disciplinary matters in line with the laws of the land before they find people guilty.

That means, proving people are guilty of an offence beyond all reasonable doubt.
