There's some Archie bargy in the Square.

SCHEMING Archie Mitchell does his best to unite the good people of Albert Square over Christmas - in their hatred of him.

Archie gets a slap from ex-wife Peggy Mitchell, whom he has been romancing again, when she learns he's engaged to Janine Butcher - and has also ruthlessly taken over the Queen Vic from her.

He also gets on the wrong side of daughter Ronnie's onoff lover Jack Branning, furious at how Archie has treated her. It means there is no shortage of suspects when viewers see the sly charmer mysteriously killed on Christmas Day. A source said: "He's lost Peggy and his daughters, who have seen him for what he is. He makes promises to Janine but lets her down.

"Any one could be the murderer."
