There's nothing funny about my love for a bunny; HOPPER & HOOCH ARE UNLIKELY MATES.

A SIX inch rabbit called Hopper has gone for a tall order after picking out a father figure - a 4ft tall Rhodesian Ridgeback. The cute pair, who feature on TV3's Animal A&E, are an amazing sight at their home in Bray, Co Wicklow.

Owner Marian Tallant, who has two daughters Gemma and Rebecca, said little Hopper is convinced that seven-year-old Hooch is his Daddy.

She said: "They are hilarious. It's like little and large.

Hooch is a gentle giant. He's 4ft high on all fours and when he's lying down he's longer than a double bed. Hopper follows him everywhere and jumps all over him.

"Hooch is seven and Hopper, who is a dwarf rabbit, is one. Hooch licks Hopper and ends up slobbering all over him. They even nudge noses and Hopper often curls up between his legs.

"We got Hopper when he was eightweeks-old and my husband John introduced him to Hooch. Hopper thinks Hooch is his Daddy. They are the best of pals."

And she said the kids on her street are convinced the gentle dog, who can even reach the family's cupboards to get his own dinner out, is Scooby Doo.

"Kids call for him and ask can Scooby Doo come out to play."

The duo feature in Animal A&E on TV3 on Wednesday, June 9, at 7.30pm.
