GARY Lineker and his sons have denied reports the family were "celebrating" his split from Danielle Bux - and that she changed him for the worse.
The couple's six-year marriage ended this week when a court granted them a decree nisi.
But Gary's son George, 23, blasted claims the family did not get on with Dan-ielle, 37. He tweeted: "We all get on very well with her and all this doesn't help at a hard time."
It was alleged the model was blamed after Gary fell out with brother Wayne, 53 - reported in April as say-ing: "Danielle cost me my relationship with Gary."
The football star called the claims, made in another newspaper, of family joy at the split a "fabrication and utter no-sense". He added after his son's tweet: "If a family member was joyous about a situation like this, they wouldn't be a much valued member of the family."
The Match Of The Day host's 17-year-old son Angus also said: "Dan was amazing and I got on very well with her." His dad and Danielle, who has a daughter aged 13 from a previous relationship, led separate lives for nearly a year, it is believed.
The rift was caused by her wish for more children. Gary, 55, has four from his first marriage to Michelle Cockayne, which ended in 2006, and was not keen to be a dad yet again. The ex-England footballer said this week: "Danielle and I had many wonderful years together. We remain very close and the greatest of friends."
Danielle also said they will be "the best of friends", adding: "We shared the most incredible eight years that I'll always cherish."
She and George regularly messaged each other on Twitter and a friend said: "Danielle was very close to Gary's children and naturally she will still be a part of their lives." Gary, worth about PS20million, and Danielle, did not use solicitors but filed for divorce using a government website. The quickie divorce costs about PS400, rather than tens of thousands in legal bills
