The revised edition of Kubler's study of itinerant electron magnetism has been significantly updated to reflect the rapid developments in the field. To the study of electronic structure and magnetism he has added new material on Heusler compounds and double petrovskites. He has also refined earlier comments on spin fluctuations. The topics addressed include density-functional theory, energy band theory, electronic structure and magnetism at finite temperatures.
