YOU can be sure you and your family will "have a nice day" at the truly amazing American Adventure.

The epic story of the most powerful nation on earth is covered by a whole host of exciting rides and wild attractions.

Start your adventure on The Skycoaster - one of the most exhilarating experiences you can ever imagine. This 200ft high freefall ride is the tallest of its kind outside the USA.

Head next to the excitement of the launch pad and the gravity-defying Missile roller- coaster which tumbles and twists through loops and steep drops - then does it all over again in reverse.

Or dare you take the road north to brave the perils of Nightmare Niagara - the world's tallest and wettest triple drop log flume?

The hair-raising Runaway Train will give you a ride to remember - while Fort St Lawrence features the great Rocky Mountain Rapids where you will be transported on a raging torrent of water thundering through twisting canyons.

There are also numerous family rides, attractions and shows - including song and dance entertainment Western-style at Lazy Lil's Saloon.

For those who prefer a quieter life there are plenty of gentle rides and beautiful resting places in the park set in the heart of the magnificent Derbyshire countryside.

And 1999 promises to be the best year ever to visit The American Adventure with the Cyberstorm Laser Cars and Mini Golf opening their doors to a host of expectant visitors.

From the early days of the Western settlers to the high-tech world of space travel, The American Adventure has it all in one of the most exciting stories ever told.

And it can all be yours for free with our fantastic ticket offer.

The Pepsi Max Big One is celebrating its fifth magnificent birthday - and it's fun all the way.

Or, if you dare, take a seat on the two-storey PlayStation - The Ride. Here you're catapulted at an amazing 80mph up a 210ft tower - and then thrust back to earth in a free-fall descent.

If that's too nerve-racking, you can ride the classic wooden roller-coasters such as the Big Dipper, Grand National and Wild Mouse.

Or step aboard the 360-degree looping Barr Irn-Bru Revolution or the high speed Avalanche bobsleigh run.

Fancy something more leisurely? Take a gentle cruise on the River Caves, get romantic in the Tunnel of Love, relive the days of steam on the Pleasure Beach Express or be astounded with a stroll through Ripley's Believe It Or Not! odditorium.

Beaver Creek Children's Theme Park is a mega adventure for young people and includes the Beaver Creek Log Flume and, new this year, the exciting Bradley Beaver's Pirate ride.

Also new for 1999 is the ever popular Haunted Hotel which is being renovated and will re-open as Trauma Towers: The Ride. Fright seekers will enter Trauma Towers and make their cautious way through spine-chilling scenes to reach the darkened enclosed dining room.

HANG on to your seats - and prepare to get wet, wet, wet - for the launch of Drayton Manor's most exciting ride ever.

The white-knuckle Stormforce 10 is the closest you'll ever get to an RNLI lifeboat rescue - apart from the real thing, of course.

And the pounds 3 million attraction is the only water ride in Britain with an amazing backwards drop.

It's being launched as part of Drayton Manor's 50th birthday celebrations this year.

And the rest of the 250 acres of beautiful parkland is PACKED with endless fun and entertainment.

Get ready for another breath-taking ride when you climb aboard Shockwave.

Experts have called it "the best stand-up roller-coaster in the world".

And it's certainly the only one of its kind in Europe.

Introduced as the theme park's signature ride during the Year Of The Roller-coaster in 1994, it's still a stand-to-attention sensation - with more than one million visitors daring to ride it each year.

For a truly blood-chilling experience, you have to try The Haunting - Drayton Manor's spooky pounds 1 million attraction.

It's not a roller-coaster or a ghost train. But the walls and floor shake, the ceilings shudder and it's been described as "the scariest place under one roof". As well as Stormforce 10, Drayton Manor boasts a second great water ride.

Splash Canyon is a stupendous white- water attraction which features special effects machines to create waves and fog - plus whirlpools and rapids.

But don't worry, there are gentler rides in the park too if you can't stand the pace.

Try the super Pirate Adventure. And attractions at Children's Corner include a Junior Pirate Ship, Crazy Bus, Junior Carousel and Vintage Car.

Among a host of other attractions at Drayton Manor, you'll also find a zoo, farm, nature trail, museums, dinosaurland and garden centre.
