In only four days, AMC Entertainment Inc. (ASE/PSE:AEN) will open the world's largest megaplex theater, the AMC Ontario Mills 30 Theatres, on Dec. 13, 1996, in Ontario, Calif., 40 miles east of Los Angeles.

The 30-screen, 5,700-seat megaplex anchors Ontario Mills Mall, a 1.7-million-square-foot value-oriented megamall that opened Nov. 14 to record crowds.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m., the media is invited to preview the AMC Ontario Mills 30 Theatres, which features vanguard amenities and state-of-the-art screen presentation.

"The opening of the world's first 30-screen theater is a long-awaited exhibition milestone," commented Dick Walsh, senior vice president, AMC West Division. "Thirty screens in one place is a striking breakthrough. And, when you add to this the industry's best sight, sound and screen presentation, it makes this an event that will change the way people experience the movies.

"And, now for the first time, the most movie choices can be found in the same spot, with top-notch amenities nearby."

Every seat in the theater is AMC's exclusive LoveSeat-style seating, plush, high-backed seats with double-wide, cushioned and retractable cupholder armrests that lift up, so moviegoers can "cozy up" during the film. Staggered stadium seating, an 18-inch rise and 46-inch wide aisles between seat rows creates an unparalleled viewing experience.

All auditoriums will feature wall-to-wall screens and are equipped with Sony Dynamic Digital Sound (SDDS) capable of delivering greater than 90 decibels of dynamic range on up to eight discrete channels of digital sound. Six auditoriums will feature AMC's exclusive High Impact Theatre System (HITS) including TORUS curved screens for maximum clarity and brilliance.

Forty-two concession stations serve customers and 15 box office ticket stations, two automated self-service box office stations and three will-call areas speed patrons to their seats.

Located on the northwest corner of the 10 and 15 freeways, the AMC Ontario Mills 30 Theatres is on the north side of The Ontario Mills (adjacent to the Food Court) just south of 4th Street at Gurnee.

AMC Entertainment Inc., headquarted in Kansas City, is one of the largest motion picture exhibitors in the world. As of Dec. 13, 1996, AMC will operate 1,882 screens in 231 theaters in 23 states, the District of Columbia and Japan.
