The vikings are coming!

TRAINEE Viking warriors are being invited to an event at Nuneaton's Riversley Park museum and art gallery today.

Thomssen, a fullyarmed Viking warrior, is taking residence at the museum with fellow raider Thorenssen who will be bringing along shoemaking equipment.

Visitors will be able to hear stories of Thomssen's skills during battle, learn some old English, try on and handle everyday items from the period, learn to read and write runes and use a real quill pen.

The event will be between 11am and 4pm, and youngsters can also have a go at activities in which they can make their own Viking shield and sword.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
