The small man crashes.

EVERY year around 5,000 people go bankrupt and in "The Road to Carey Street" (Radio 4, 8.O) some of them talk to Bernard Falk.

Producer Peter Windows said: "There are two aims to tonight's programme. First to describe what happens when someone goes bankrupt, and second to tell what it feels like.

"Although we often read about the stars going bankrupt the vast majority of cases are small businessmen. We'll be talking to three of them, including a young painter and decorator from Coventry."
