The roads to ruin; You Say Email:firstname.lastname@example.org.
IN response to an article recently stating howthe council can''t afford to do the repairs to the roads due to budget cuts: Let's not be fooled into believing that the state of the roads at present is solely due to budget cuts or the last two severe winters.
Yes, heavy snowhas made the problemworse but the reality is that by allowing the roads to deteriorate so much for years, coupled with poor maintenance, this iswhat we''re left with.
As a driver I have had to bear the cost of more frequentwheel balancing, tracking etc. Also, as a keen cyclist, having watched the roads getworse every year, I takemy life inmy hands every time I''m out on the road, having to swerve around potholes that at best would puncture your tyres and at worst could buckle your wheels, potentially throwing you into the path of traffic.
So where does that leave us now? Are all the road users who are already being taxed to death going to have to dip into their pockets yet again to sort this mess out? What a joke!
