Richard lectures for 2008

This collection of four essays derived from a lecture series held at the University of Virginia in 2008, provides students of philosophy and the history of philosophy with a valuable look at the recent work of the important French philosopher Jen-Luc Marion. A former student of Derrida, Marion explores the idea of givenness through discussions of the work of Levinas, Heidegger and the phenomenological lens. The volume is translated from the French by Stephen E. Lewis, a professor of English at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.
