The logo that could earn Becks pounds 150m; HERO CASHES IN ON TRADEMARK.
IT is unmistakable... David Beckham doing what he does better than anyone.
And the England captain's very own logo - unveiled yesterday - could now help him net EUR150million.
Inspired by his free-kicks, the image is central to a huge new deal tying him to adidas until 2008. It will also put him alongside sports marketing giants Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.
"This logo is totally me and something people can relate to," he said at the launch in Germany.
"The image of me taking a free-kick is world renowned."
Adidas hope to cash in on that fact - as does Becks, 28.
Air Jordan sports shoes sold EUR110m in their first year in the 80s. The basketball legend is now worth EUR440m - six times as much as Becks.
Eric Vellozzi, who designed the logo and was told to make Beckham the face of adidas, said: "We captured the unique nature of his free-kick."
MONEY SHOT: Becks' logo echoes his free-kick stance; BIG SUCCESS: Jordan; AND HERE'S A FEW LOGOS WE'D LIKE TO SEE NEXT..; SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON; STAN COLLYMORE; ALEX FERGUSON; ROBERT PIRES; DARREN ANDERTON; RONALDO
