The hot and the not.

Byline: Lesley Roberts

Roy Larner, the Millwall fan who tackled the London Bridge terrorists with a cry of "F*** you, I'm Millwall". And Sergio Farina, who saved 28 lives by blocking the attackers from his restaurant. Scottish tourist David Anderson, who gave CPR to a dying victim. And every single hero who emerged from everyday life to help others. Terror on our streets ends up showing us the society we all want. One where heroes live and evil fails.

Thank heavens for little girls (and boys). While the world goes crazy, babies just keep being born, bringing a bit of joy with them. So news of the arrival of George and Amal Clooney's twins brought welcome relief from bad news. At 56, gorgeous George is no youthful first-time dad. So what? The lucky kiddies have emerged from quite a gene pool. And when dad's energy levels flag, his bank balance will forever be buoyant.

Taxpayer-funded RBS spent PS1billion saving disgraced ex-boss Fred Goodwin. He was due to give evidence in a civil case taken by out-of-pocket shareholders. Because the bankers learned nothing, they threw money at the disgruntled investors. They accepted a PS200million settlement over the chance to grill Goodwin in court.
