The first stone...

Byline: Jon Walker

CONSERVATIVES scent blood after Gordon Brown's wobbly week.

When Parliament returned this week after a two-month summer holiday, the first person who got to ask a question was Staffordshire MP Michael Fabricant (Con Lichfield).

The question began: "Now that the red flag has been hauled down and the yellow flag of cowardice has been hoisted . . ."

He was meant to be asking about unemployment among young people. But like the rest of his colleagues, he couldn't resist taunting Mr Brown.

TAUNT... Michael Fabricant.
