The choirmaster returns.

THE very idea of standing in front of hundreds of people, belting out a tune probably leaves most people in a cold sweat.

But then they probably haven't met Gareth Malone.

Last year Malone recruited a selection of the wives and girlfriends of British military for the BBC's The Choir: Military Wives.

It was a massive hit, and the choir earned themselves the bonus of securing last year's coveted Christmas Number 1 spot.

Now Gareth's hoping to get the staff in some of Britain's busiest workplaces to sing while they carry out their daily chores.

First up, are the doctors, nurses and porters of Lewisham NHS Trust, in southeast London.

Gareth Malone says: "A passion for singing is the vital ingredient in any performance.

"As an audience member you want to know that people love getting together to sing.

"In the best choirs they sing music that suits their level."
