GOT a load of kids to buy for this Christmas? You can't go wrong with a selection box. And with so many to choose from this year, you can make sure it's a present chosen with the personal touch. Our selection committee has been boxing clever this week to put six of the best to the test.

Contents: Six mini Mars Bars, six mini Milky Ways, four Twix fingers, four mini packets of Starburst, four mini packets of Skittles, four mini packets of Maltesers, four mini packets of Milky Way Magic Stars.

A real fun idea for a selection box - packed with nicely sized goodies - and it all comes in a sturdy tube Blue Peter presenters might dream of. A big hit all round.

Marks & Spencer Happy Christmas Selection Box

Price: pounds 1.99

Contents: Two mini bags of jelly babies, two mini bags of dolly mixtures, two mini bags of fruit flavoured teddy bear gums. The perfect selection box for little girls, in the shape of a stocking, filled with dinky bags full of sweets. Good size for a stocking filler and a nice price.

Galaxy Silk Zone

Price: pounds 2.99

Contents: Ripple, two Galaxy Caramels, Minstrels, bar of Galaxy Hazelnut, bar of Galaxy milk chocolate, bar of Galaxy Fruit and Hazelnut.

The dullest of the selection boxes tested, just too brown and old-fashioned looking. If you're a Galaxy guru you'll no doubt enjoy The Silk Chocolate Experience - but the box doesn't make you want to grab it off the shelf - whether you're a child or an adult.

Nestle Premier League Football Selection Box

Price: pounds 1.99

Contents: Aero Chunky Milk, Aero Mint Breaktime, Yorkie biscuit, Footie Kits Bag, two Giant Smarties Bags, a mini football.

Good value at under pounds 2 and there's even chocolate football strips, boots and socks to devour. Not only can they watch endless footie - they can eat it too.

Cadbury's Selection

Price: pounds 3.99

Contents: Fuse, Wispa Gold, Chunky TimeOut, Curly Wurly, Crunchie, Caramel, Twirl, Fudge, Taz bar, Santa chocolate bar, Buttons, Wild Life chocolate bar. Contains a massive 12 full size items and is for serious chocoholics. There's a fun pair of bookends they can cut out and keep on the back of the pack too.

Thorntons Selection Box

Price: pounds 2.99

Contents: Santa lollipop, reindeer lollipop, milk chocolate coins, vanilla & custard flavour jellies, vanilla mini fudge cubes.

A really lovely selection box with traditional coins in gold foil and superb detail on the Santa and reindeer figures, including white beard, red hat and red nose. A great choice for a child who likes to savour things.
