The changing face of DC Comics' Caped Crusader.
He's the mysterious billionaire who has enchanted readers and film-goers across the world, but Bruce Wayne aka Batman has a new face in this latest interpretation of the famous DC Comics' tale of the Caped Crusader.
Fourteen year-old actor David Mazouz has the task of taking on the young, recently orphaned Wayne, following the cold-blooded murder of his parents.
This act shaped the character of the Bruce Waynes who have gone before and set them on the path of vigilantism.
First in our memory as Bruce Wayne was Adam West, who starred in the 1960s television series, the complete opposite to the popular big-screen character, West's billionaire playboy was camp and colourful.
Fast forward to the 1980s and Tim Burton resurrected the comic book favourite in a Adam West's Batman > vaudeville/cartoonish style with Michael Keaton in the lead role.
Keaton had the charming playboy with a dark undertone completely wrapped up and faced off Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman, Danny DeVito's Penguin and of course Jack Nicholson's Joker.
These interpretations were not challenged substantially until the resurrection of Batman by Christopher Nolan in 2005 in Batman Begins.
Okay, so Val Kilmer (in Batman Forever) and George Clooney (in Batman and Robin) are great in many other roles, but a memorable Bruce Wayne they are not.
Christian Bale, who is still etched on many fans'minds as the perfect Bruce Wayne/Batman - good luck Ben Affleck - was Bruce Wayne and Batman completely, handsome, charming and definitely mysterious.
