The cell phone sized jump starter.
All of us are probably familiar with Murphy's Law, if not by name then by experience. "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong" is something all of us have probably encountered at varying degrees of seriousness at various stages of our lives. Murphy's Law can strike anytime so it's always important to be prepared just like the Boy Scouts motto says.
When it comes to cars, this practice of preparedness is all the more important because so many things can go wrong. You can get a flat tire, the breaks can go haywire, or the engine can just die or the car battery can lose its charge. It sucks to be stuck in the middle of the road or out in the middle of nowhere knowing there's something you could have done to prevent or address your car problem.
One of the things that you might want in your car is something that can jump start your car. Instead of those huge jump starters that could take up so much space in your car why not something a lot smaller? After all, in this day and age, the trend in technology is to get smaller. For example, our cell phones are so much smaller now compared to the first ones that existed before. We now smartphones and tablets that are essentially computers that we can bring around wherever we want.
Jumpr is a jump starter developed by Juno Power that can be kept in your glove compartment and can even fit inside your pocket. Jumpr measures at 14 x 7.6 x 1.5 cm and weighs 0.2 kg, which is almost just like a cellphone but a bit heavier. It carries a 6,000 mAh battery that can deliver a 12 volt output with a peak of 300 amperes that's enough to give a jump start to most 4 and 6 cylinder engines.
Another interesting thing that the Jumpr can do is actually quite obvious. It's a battery after all so the fact that it can be used to charge your smartphone or tablet isn't surprising. It has a USB output specifically for this reason. At 6,000 mAh, it has way more than enough to charge your phone before it needs to be recharged. The Jumpr also has a flashlight that can handy when you need to jump start your car at night.
Always being prepared means that you shouldn't abuse this device too much. Using it mainly for your phone could mean it won't have the juice to jump start your car when you really need to use it. Don't be Murphy's next victim if you can help it.
