THE ASSOCIATION'S CAREER SERVICES TEAM IS expanding the scope of its support to job-seeking physicians by introducing a program that matches an individual's strengths and weaknesses against specific job criteria, and then places them on a track that improves their chances for success.

"We believe in a holistic approach to physician leadership by connecting physicians with the most appropriate products, services and resources to achieve their desired career goals," says Career Services director Dian Ginsberg, whose team offers strategic career development, educational support and career/executive coaching services. "Our goal is to provide a strong partnership with physicians to support their developmental needs from residency to retirement."

Career Services soon will offer a program that identifies the competencies required for particular leadership positions sought by physicians, then pinpoints the professional skills candidates should develop to be seen as competitive for those positions. Upon assessment, candidates are directed to the resources that can convert weaknesses into strengths, thus improving their chances of getting the jobs they want.

For information, email Dian Ginsberg at dginsberg@physicianleaders.org or call 800-562-8088.
