The Zahara party comes to town.
She released her debut album 'Loliwe' last year and the album went platinum after only 2 weeks. The album is performed in Isixhosa and English and features spiritually uplifting ballads such as 'Ndiza', 'Umthwalo' which means burden or baggage as well as ' destiny'.
Her musical influences have been the late Miriam Makeba and Brenda Fassie. She has been known to say that she wants her music to touch the souls of her audience.
Zahara's music has currently taken the entertainment industry by storm. She was nominated for the South African Music Awards (SAMAS) in seven categories which include Best Newcomer, Female Artist of the Year as well as Record of the year. She will perform at the Windhoek Showgrounds during the first Afro-pop Carnival on 5 May. Local artists such as Shisani, Elemotho, Lize Ehlers, Big Ben and Smokey will also perform at the event. Tickets for her show were sold out and the organisers had to print more tickets. Tickets are still on sale at Computicket and are going for N$150 for the standard ticket and N$300 for the golden circle.
