The World sails in; YOUR LETTERS TO THE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER OF WALES.

SIR - I was intrigued by your tale of the millionaires' Love Boat putting into Cardiff ("The World, but not as we know it... ", July 29); Love Boat, that is, as in "The love of money is the root of all etc, etc... " Since the main attraction appears to be a round of golf at the Ryder Cup course - what a Postcard from Wales that is, and I say that as someone who doesn't play golf.

I do hope that someone, somewhere has the wit and wisdom to seek the plus and minus values of the Celtic Manor Resort and golf course as perceived by the world's movers and shakers nestling aboard The World, in particular what they made of the wreck of the Mary Celeste washed up alongside the 19th hole.

For sure, what these privileged folk register is what the rest of the world will register come October.
