Monumenta Graeca et Romana; v.14

GN780

In the introduction, former curator of ancient art at The Detroit Institute of Arts traces the history of the acquisition of this extensive collection, then hands the stage over to independent scholar Caccioli, who took on the challenging and valuable task of cataloging it. Arrangement of the catalog is in introduced sections on stone, bronze, ceramic, and terracotta pieces. Each piece is thoroughly described in text and shown in a small b&w photo. Rounding out the volume are an extensive bibliography, a concordance of DIA accession numbers, and a concordance of former collections, galleries, and donors.
