Set in Munich, ten years after the end of World War Two, this is the story of Inge and her journey to discovering her true identity. Inge is 16, lives a good life with her parents and has a secret boyfriend, Wilf who is Jewish.

Inge discovers that she is not who she thought she was after a strange woman keeps turning up on the doorstep. Inge realises that her parents have been keeping a secret from her for all of her life and is determined to discover who she is and where she has come from.

This is a fantastic book in the historical fiction genre, which uncovers the story of the Lebensbornprogramme that happened in Nazi Germany during World War Two. The story is told in a convincing manner and shows the horror and confusion that Inge feels when she realises that her parents have been keeping a massive part of her life from her. Inge undergoes a painful process of self-discovery that will forever change her life, and her view of her parents and what they did during the war.
