The Sex Doctor: When I masturbate; SEXUAL HEALTH.

Byline: DR Catherine Hood

I FIND it difficult to ejaculate when I have sex, but not when I masturbate. What's wrong with me?

AS you can climax through masturbation then you're unlikely to have an underlying health problem.

Some prescription drugs can cause delayed ejaculation so see your doctor. Also cut back on drinking.

It's possible your penis is just not very sensitive, so stimulation is more difficult.

Concerns about your relationship or worries about being overheard or discovered having sex can inhibit the orgasmic reflex.

Talk through the problem with your doctor or a psychosexual counsellor. Visit www.ipm.org.uk
