The Razz: Airport security scare for Silvas drummer.
LUCIE SILVAS nearly couldn't perform at Radio Clyde's Cash For Kids christmas lunch - because her drummer had his sticks confiscated. Tom Meadows was searched at Heathrow airport and concerned staff took his drum sticks, feeling they posed a security risk.
Lucie said: 'The poor guy was having a really bad day. We had to be at the airport to fly to Scotland at about 6am and he was running late.
'Then they took his drum sticks. Luckily someone went out and bought him some when we got here.'
Lucie was in Glasgow for Clyde's lunchtime charity event, where she performed her single What You're Made Of.
The talented singer/songwriter has penned hits for the likes of Liberty X and Gareth Gates and her debut album, Breathe In, has just gone gold.
But despite making megabucks as the latest darling of the British music industry, the 25-year-old has simple tastes.
She said: 'Not many people believe this about me, but I'm a big fan of camping.
'I love travelling and it would be great to go backpacking.
'I don't know if I'd get a chance to do it now. But something like a safari would be great.'
Lucie lives in Leicester with her boyfriend, Northern Ireland rugby international Jordan Murphy, but hopes one day to move overseas.
The half-Scots, half-Kiwi beauty said: 'I don't think I could ever go back to living in New Zealand, but I'd like to live abroad - possibly Italy.'
Lucie is planning a gig in Scotland in the new year.
