The New Ryobi Introducing More Than 35 Power Tools This Summer; All Exclusively at The Home Depot.

ANDERSON, S.C., July 10 /PRNewswire/ --

The new Ryobi -- Ryobi Technologies, Inc. -- is introducing more than 35 all new or upgraded portable corded, cordless and benchtop tools this summer. All have been engineered and designed for the fast-growing do-it-yourself market, and come in new, informative user-friendly packaging.

Ryobi Technologies also recently reached agreement with The Home Depot that these power tools will be available exclusively at The Home Depot in North America.

Ryobi Technologies, Inc. is an Anderson, South Carolina-based subsidiary of TechTronic Industries Co., Ltd. (TTI), headquartered in Hong Kong. TTI also owns business units involved in the design, manufacturing and marketing of home floor care products, appliances and solar energy. Ryobi Technologies, Inc. was formed in August 2000 when TTI bought a number of businesses, including Ryobi America, from Japan-based Ryobi Limited.

Focusing on the weekend warrior and do-it-yourselfer, the new and redesigned tools take advantage of TTI's global staff, which has award-winning experience in design, engineering, manufacturing and marketing. Each of these power tools has been engineered and designed to offer professional features at affordable prices.

Ryobi Technologies, which set the DIY industry standard for fully featured affordable cordless drill/drivers in 1997, is reintroducing the whole line with more features at even better prices. The line up now includes a 6-, 7.2-, 9.6-, 12-, 14.4- and 18-volt 1/2" drill/driver, and a 14.4-volt Combo Kit. Each of these cordless tools takes advantage of the very latest in cordless power tool technology and design, making them among the most compact, well balanced and affordable cordless tools on the market today.

The Weekend Warrior Workshop tools include five new shop tools at $99 a piece. For less than $500 you can outfit a workshop with a table saw, miter saw, scroll saw, band saw and drill press.

Ryobi Technologies is also introducing new bench grinders, a corded clutch driver and an orbital buffer. Plans call for Ryobi to add at least five more new tools for the woodworker and do-it-yourselfer in the fourth quarter of 2001.

Ryobi will continue to use authorized service centers for repairs on all its tools. There are Ryobi authorized service centers in all 50 states, Washington, DC and Puerto Rico.
