The NASGW Hunting Show.

The Sixteenth Annual NASGW Hunting Show will be held November 16-18, 1989 at the Denver Merchandise Mart in Denver, Colorado. The three-day show moves from its traditional Friday through Sunday schedule to Thursday through Saturday.

Over 190 manufacturers of shooting sports equipment and accessories will be participating. The NASGW Hunting Show began in 1974 and provides an educational, marketing and communication opportunity for both manufacturers and wholesalers. This event will mark the beginning of the 1990 selling season for the shooting sports industry.

Wholesalers are provided with the opportunity to see new products, and to learn prices, programs, marketing and promotion plans. Collectively, wholesale buyers attending the NASGW Hunting Show represent in excess of $1 billion in annual wholesale sales of shooting sports equipment and accessories, and service thousands of dealers across the U.S. and Canada.

Participation in the Hunting Show is by invitation. Invitations are extended to participants from the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers. Only those wholesalers who are members of the NASGW, or are recommended by current wholesaler members, are permitted to attend the show. Manufacturers must be exhibitors in the show, and manufacturer's representatives must represent lines being exhibited.

All buyers will have the opportunity to win cash prizes on Saturday, November 19. Buyers must be present to win prizes totaling $3,500. Two fourth prizes of $250 each will be presented, third prize will be $500 and, first and second prizes of $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. Buyers can register any time during the three-day show, and the drawing will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The pre-registration deadline for the 1989 show is October 20th. If this deadline has passed, attendees must register at the show in Denver. There will be a $10 on-site registration fee for new or replaced badges. Registration received at NASGW headquarters no later than October 20th is free of charge.

Hotel rooms have been blocked at eight Denver hotels, and courtesy shuttle service will be provided to and from each of the hotels to the Denver Merchandise Mart on show days only. Hotels included are: Westin Hotel-Tabor Center, Marriott-City Center, Embassy Suite Hotel at Denver Place, Hyatt Regency Denver, Brown Palace Hotel, Holiday Inn Downtown, Holiday Inn North, and Best Western Regency Inn.

Official Hunting Show hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The NASGW will host a reception on Friday, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Terrace Garden of the Denver Merchandise Mart. All Hunting Show attendees are welcome to attend.

The Association's Annual Meeting will be conducted on Wednesday, November 15 in the Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Denver. The featured luncheon speaker will be Roger Staubach, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback. Known as the "winningest quarterback" in NFL history, Roger will present "The Winning Spirit."

The NASGW will be announcing the recipients of the Eleventh Annual Hunting and Shooting Sports Performance Awards during this event, too. The Association will conduct its annual business meeting following Roger Staubach's presentation.
