The Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition Award.
Mr. Massey graduated with a B.A. in economics from Colgate University. He began his career as head of the market research department at Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services in midtown Manhattan, then moved over to the firm's investment sales division.
Mr. Massey went on to found Massey Knakal Realty Services with partner Robert Knakal, whom he met at Coldwell Banker. The company went on to become New York City's largest investment property sales brokerage firm and grew to employ 100 sales professionals while serving 200,000 property owners. Ranked New York's #1 sales company by Co-Star Group, Massey Knakal earns more than $1 billion in annual sales and is one of the nation's largest privately owned real estate brokerage firms.
Mr. Massey is the Chairman of the Commercial Board of Directors of REBNY and also sits on REBNY's Commercial Brokerage Board of Directors, Ethics and Business Practice Subcommittee and The Interfirm Forum (Residential), the Sales Brokers Sub-Committee and The Retail Stores Sub-Committee. In addition, he is a Real Estate Institute Faculty Member at New York University, a trustee of The Roxbury Latin School and the Louise Wise Services as well as President of the Board of Trustees of the James Lenox House Association.
